J-Day 2009
Von -angela-, 18:09

it´s the rheinpromenade. directly at the bank of the rhein. here you see the place where the stage was and the most of programme was shown.  in the back is the schifffartsmuseum. the museum of shipping history. people could get traditional japanese food and drinks by the three marqueses in the back. sushi, fresh made by a japanese cook.  very tasty!  you could also get sake ( rice spirit ), green tea ice and hattori ( chickenpieces on a skewer with sauce ) and other tasty things to eat. at the other side of the place were another three marqueses, offering the same stuff with little differences. in the mittle of the place, where the stage was, was a stage tower you´ll see in the following photographies as well.

thre cosplay girls :3

this picture associates america and frensh.

...because the two guys looking into the camera are "together" barack hussein obama ( headform from the left one, hair, height  from the right one.  then, the afro from the girl together became a psychological president ) but that´s not the only seeable proof.  in the back of the picture you can see a streched out fist. now look at the girls again. they all do have cans in their hand, making a circle. one visible sign is the circle itself, "reflecting"  the tower in the back. and if you look closer and the same way i already explained, you can see the statue of liberty. (girls hair, closes, shape and color of the clothes and the cans)  the chain of the girl with the blond hair shows the form of the dress of the liberty statue. there are also signs for its motherland french to find. ( the stripes on the guys shirt, ....)

:)

fresh made sushi. it´s totally easy to make it  at home and it´s very tasty, if one gives it a shot. for maki suhi rolles you only need salmon and cucumber, rice, a sea seaweed sheet, ( nori ),sweet soja sauce and maybe wasabi as dips. ( wasabi is the green, VERY sharp cream you can see at the photographie. ) cut the maki role in to pieces as big as a thumb length. if you never have tried wasabi, try it out by dipping only a litlle bit of sushi in it or your mouth will start to burn badly. if it is too sharp drink milk, no water. here is a some recipes: http://sushiday.com

these ladies are showing the o-bon dance. it´s similiar to halloween or the german allerseelenfest.

the ancestors are allowed to come back to the upper world, for one day in a year, the o bon dance is celebrated in order save the souls. it based on the light celebration day, and the alavambana ( that word means to hang head over in hell ) also named as pretafeeding, feeding of hungry ghosts. through the symbolistically feeding, ( the o bon dance ) the souls should be freed from their sins.

actually it was pretty nice how the ladies explained the o-bon dance, to the japanese day visitors. because yes, everybody should do with. they took the moon as example to show every move of the o-bon.

clap two times one one, than clap one time on two

(clap,clap ___clap)

and than this:

1. :  where´s the moon? ( right arm above the head, left leg back )

2.: where´s the moon? ( left arm the same, right leg back, left leg forth )

3.: there´s the moon! ( both arms infront of the face, as one wants to sheeld the eyes from the light of the moon, legs together )

to feed the hungry ancestors souls with the moonlight, stright the light you´ve gotten from the moon from your halfarm to the souls. right, and left arm.

there´s the moon! :)

feed the souls

where´s the moon?

there´s the moon.

Japantag 2009
Von badmanvegeta, 22:20

the japanese day is an event with more or less over two thousend people celebrating it every year. i visited the japanese day in düsseldorf on saturday the 13th.

manga means " moving picture" and it has a long history. anime is - like the name sais- the animated version of manga. ( no comic, like batman, spiderman, silver surfer ...) people used to mix that up. mangaka in japanese are very famous people, very high aprecciated. akira toriyama, who i do very much admire, and who created dragonball, is one of them.  you´ll see photographies here, where people are "cosplaying" their favourite anime characters, by slipping into mostly selfmade costumes.

very creative and some with much fanlove seeable.

cosplayer and anime fans aren´t automatically japanese fans but it is a not bad effect, that people want to know more about the birthplace of the country of anime and manga.there are huge platforms in the internet and since the internet exist, a big wave started, pointing to europe. just google "anime manga or cosplay" and you´ll see what i mean with that.

i do love at japan the two different faces, as the quite religious side with a lot of wisdom, philosophy, history, religion and tradition behind it; the wonderful painting alike landscapes, and than, on the other side is the the rushing, pulsing town full of people and high technology. the food is artistically and very tasty if one likes that direction of food. the tea ceremony is a good example, too. it´s an almost shizophrenically island with it´s karaoke bars, sexualy exspecialtilities ( hentai, yaoi, yuri, shota and lollicon ) and the whole culture and everything what japanese is about, is very interesting.

the nature mights, like taifunes and earthquakes, are very intensive there. if one knows that, it´s incredible to find connections to the japanese live and kulture, their polution and surroundings.  a very proud, beautiful, interesting land.

the japanese day was great and the programme very nice. the people were involved in the programme and it doesn´t rain at all. really very good, and i am looking forward next year with pleasure. here are the photographies, i´ve made. they´re showing cosplayers, programmepoints, and the düsseldorfer town.

here is also the official link to the already past japanese day.

Aki Festival Documentation 2009
Von badmanvegeta, 21:45

the topic of the festival was "Wagner is dead and i´m feeling sick too".

the intodruction reading, gave a taste of the entire programme and what students, guest docents, and visitors, could expect the following four days, from tuesday til friday.

from the beginning on, the atmosphere was very good and woke curiosity about everything what would follow.

i was enthusiastic by the musical aspect in the master classes, wich were listed in the programme booklet.

the jazzchor, leaded by John Hondorp, was a very nice end of the introduction and a better begin, for the aki and conservatorium-festival itself. i´ve already heard those kind of chorussinging and was remembered on a version of lacrimosa, performed by a group under a bridge, to get a well sounding echo, there.

it was kind of the same.

the first reading i visited was from "Tom Salisbury", " a musical Odyssey".

i think it was a big pitty, and it would have been so much more interesting if he would have went further with the life performing, while his reading, instead of his power point presentation, because after a half and an hour he only clicks the music files and played them.

the point is, that everybody can do that, at home, searching youtube or myvideo, nowadays.

with his lifestory and his abilities on piano he should have followed his first idea of improvisation, talking about his life and maybe here and there, playing mp3 files. therefore he is a musician.

i guess many people there thought as i did, because one could feel that after a while, sitting there, just listening to the files or waiting that he plays a video.  i can honestly say, that i very much enjoyed the reading. especially the first part of it.

for my part, it was a very good startday for the festival.

at that tuesday i let myself inspire by everthing, and got an  first overview.

the next day, wednesday, i joined the "Helge Schneider" Workshop.

"Helge Schneider" is a german artist, jazzmusician, abstract humorist, auther, and actor. he did a lot of, what people would call weird stuff, even if this stuff is humor.

the masterclasses i participated to, were "samba band" and "koorzingen".

the endpresentation on friday was a little bit disturbed by the waiting time outside, even if the wether was luckily good. i was curious about "der Ja-Sager" von Berthold Brecht. I enjoyed it, as well. The costumes were good and the sight of the chor in the back of the stage, was more than creative. The movement, combined with the singing worked well together.

i wish i could have seen "Der Ring der Nibelungen" too, because i like that play and saw a tv play version before. i also have read it partly. i think i recognized a mistake in the programme booklet, because the nibelungen doesn´t have any known auther at all.

it was interesting to follow the devlopment of the wallpictures. but it came out just great.

the whole topic, "Wagner is dead and i´m feeling sick too" didn´t appear to me so strong. Instead of that, i got a "Pirates of the carrebian" feeling. the bridge, which was hung up, the big picture, even the colors and the eating, and the weather.  i was wearing pirates clothes after the second day, because of that.

i can say, that i really enjoyed the aki festival 2009 and i think it was a success.

Presentation two
Von -angela-, 19:18

My second Presentation wasn´t well, because i had problems with paying the collegegeld and still have.  What actually means, that I wasn´t much at the aki,  but hadn´t fewer stuff to present either, because i ´ve worked fast on what i was busy with.  And i did follow my Plan, so there isn´t any reason for me to change it, yet. And i´ll will work further on it.

I didn´t talked much to the lecturer. Helen two times, Margret one time. I only saw Hans and Ernst a few times.  I didn´t talked to Frank at all.

The presentation with the lectuerers for monumental arts, did not take place.

The Presentation with the three sculpture + lecturers itself, wasn´t good at all. We don´t talked over my work. I wasn´t asked wich lecturer i want to chose, for the second half of the year from the lectuerer of monumental arts, for reasons i´ve already mentioned above.  I was there but not prepared at that Thursday afternoon, anyways.

Cornelis Troost
Von -angela-, 21:14

Tentoonstelling Cornelis Troost
