Akira Toriyama, ( Toriyama = Mountain of Birds ) was born on April the 5th, 1955 in the Prefecture Aichi, Japan. He is, next two Freddie Mercury, my idol and my biggest inspiration since over 9 years. 

He is the father of Dragonball, Dr.Slump, Wonder Iland and the reason why i felt in love with the manga, comic and anime scene and especially Dragonball.

I admire not only his drawing style, but his ideas and the humour, he put in his works. As a child he was fan of walt disneys 101 Dalmatiner, wich inspired him to do his first draw experiments. From this point, the passion for comics and create new worlds on paper never ever left him again.

After he left school, he worked as a graficer in a Advertising agency, where he could practise and train his abbilities.

Years later, he got his big chance : the japanese Shonen jump magazin ( Shonen = Boys ) engage him as Drawer and in Dezember 1978 he published his first Shortstory, "Wonder Iland." An funny fairy Tale alike Story, with  a Witch, A cave human being and King Ghidra.

After Wonder Iland, Dr. Slump followed in 1980. In Dr. Slump, a Scientist creates a Roboterwife for his own.

Arale.  But she´s more like a daughter to him and no wife at all. Very funny story, really cute and freaky.  Dr. Slump was published in  Shonen Jump, as Book Serial, and Anime.

Toriyamas biggest Shot, is Dragonball. Dragonball was published in Shonen Jump over eleven years very, very successful. And for likewise good reasons. 

Unfortunately he dont like the publical attraction and lives very withdrawn, with his family.

He is the first Mangaka who let his Characteres grew up and have children and also the only one, who´s works are in the national museum of modern art in japan. An  Akira Toriyama exhibition wich went through severel japanese towns, enticed 3,5 million people. And all over the world people are still Akira Toriyama Fans. I am one of them! Always will be :)

If you take a closer look, than you can say that many mangas are related to dragonball, Arale and the whole Toriyama Work. He should be one of the proudest men in the world.

freddie mercury, alias farokh pluto bulsara born in sansiba, is my idol in absolut every way, you can imagine. he was a musical artist and in my opinion genious.  he studied at the ealing college of art in london, where he met the other bandmembers, brian may and roger taylor.  he was the lead singer of the amazing rock band queen, played piano and guitar, was a unbelievable songwriter and an perfoming artist, too. as i did the aptitude test at the aki, a dozent, p.dam had said, that i wouldn´t  have drawn the picture i had taken with me that day from freddie and brian may i brought with.

and yes, it actually looked very old, but i did this drawing just two days before ( afraid of not having enough to show at that day )  i only used too much turpentine in combination with oil colors sparely used, so it came out very bright and a grey - white tupentine veil was layed over that comic alike picture where i drawed freddie and brian.

yes. i think it´s a good way to make picture looking old, if someone wants to have them that way...

i didn´t say a thing to him, though. but i must say, that i didn´t have thought about, that i may could have fucked up the test because of it. today i guess he understood it, as a will to study at the aki or something. three years later he was the one, who corrected a mistake with my studypoints from the basic year certification, as i did another aptitudetest, ( i shouldn´t even need to do, because i already did the first year. ) i asked about that after i was invited, in a mail but it seemed not to matter. or semmingly doesn´t matter, because it matters while the test, as i said again, that i did the basic year and three trimester sculpture.

to be bloody honest, i really didn´t get until today, what he actually did with my studypoints, from my basic year certification i brought with me that day and i am still thinking that he had taken a few away...but it was fine with me that day anyways,so i wasn´t interested in it, even if he did a fire with it or something like that.  i know it sounds weird. actually it is weird. what shall i say, it is the truth.

whatever, freddie mercury and the music of queen, were and still are one of my companians through life and the art in my life. no matter if i hear their music, or do fanarts about queen. their songs are very inspirative and totally unique in style. i just love the songs and the persons behind the band. especially freddie mercury and brian may are my heroes and idols. i play e-guitar, but not very good. i´ve chosen my internet nickname "Bijou" because of the samenamed song, where is less text and a very adorable guitar solo from brian may. click here to hear it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4wU63W4GTE

i am impressed and inspired by his art and his personality. his pictures are having a very sensitive strengh and a unbelievable expression in itselves. for me, he is a timeless artist. maybe one can copy his art, clothing or even his behavior in wich ways ever, you can buy an ozelot...but what´s inside of his art, isnt ever reachable. his live, or what´s known about it, is very interesting either.
